Highlights for January 2025
CMAC was proud to bring the community together for a weird and wonderful night as a sponsor for Cen Cal Cinema’s first screening last month! Attendees enjoyed the cult classic UHF under the stars. There was also a Weird Al look-alike contest! Fans were invited to show up in their best Al-inspired fits and compete for the title of Fresno’s Weirdest Al! Best of all, the event was free, fun, and full of Fresno weirdness.
Last month, our Fresno Art Beat Crew worked on four different projects that showcased the vibrant arts and cultural scene in our community! The team captured the creativity that makes Fresno shine, from covering Lion Dances in Chinatown to capturing the Central Valley Fashion Week. These projects provided hands-on learning experiences for the Art Beat Crew, helping them sharpen their storytelling and production skills. It was a month of art, culture, and growth – stay tuned for more Art Beat coverage!
CMAC kicked off the year strong with 163 facility reservations and 100 equipment checkouts fueling nonstop creativity! Our members jumped right back into their projects after the holiday break. If this is just the start, we can’t wait to see what’s in store for the rest of the year!

We welcomed 374 visitors at CMAC last month! From members and crew to talent and curious explorers, our historic building was full of energy. With creative collaborations and hands-on learning, it was an exciting start to the year!

Our community producers didn’t skip a beat and submitted a total of 112 new programs, filling our channels with everything from charming fillers to delightful specials. There’s a wonderful variety to explore and enjoy!
And guess what? You don’t even need to be a member to submit your programs to our channels!
January saw our Production Team hard at work on 20 diverse projects, including board meetings and city council sessions. A standout this month was their work on the Maddy Report recording here at CMAC where they ensured a seamless production for the folks at the Maddy Institute.
