Highlights for May 2025
Swede Fest 25 illuminated Fresno High’s Royce Hall, delivering an unforgettable evening of creativity and community spirit. Local filmmakers of all ages showcased their talents through homemade recreations of Hollywood favorites that captivated audiences. Thanks to CMAC and Fresno Unified’s partnership, this tradition continues to unite our community through the power of creative expression.
Our members brought the heat last month! This energy wave resulted in 161 facility reservations and 104 equipment checkouts. The excitement for storytelling in our community is truly inspiring!
Last month, 513 curious, creative individuals walked through our building with passion, purpose, and potential for media creation! Each visit energized our facility with innovative ideas, creativity, and powerful storytelling. This is more than just a media center, it’s a home for local visionaries.

For nearly a decade, The Big Tell Film Contest has empowered Central Valley storytellers, and this May we launched our 9th annual program! We’re awarding grants to 10 filmmakers who will showcase the unique people, places, and activities that define our region.
Applications are open until July 7.
In May, we received over 250 program submissions that showcased the diverse and unique voices within our community. These programs are now available to watch on CMAC’s channels, website, and streaming apps.
Remember, you don’t have to be a member to submit your programs to air at CMAC!
Throughout May, our incredible production team completed 36 projects. And it’s graduation season! A major highlight was covering the Clovis Community College Commencement to give families and friends the chance to watch their graduates walk across the stage no matter where they are.
