The San Joaquin is California’s second longest river. Its restoration presents unique challenges and opportunities to restore a vitally important river and historic salmon populations. Our expert panel have played leading roles in this multi-decade effort, from the original 1988 litigation, to formation of the ground-breaking 2006 Settlement, and the return of spawning spring-run Chinook salmon to the system in 2017. This panel will delve into the many facets of the San Joaquin River restoration effort with a look at the history, the litigation, the governance, and the continued efforts to restore this river.
