Join us on Thursday April 21, 2022 at noon for a special groundbreaking ceremony! The new $88 million science building will feature modern labs across several science disciplines and will also house Design Science Middle College High School, tutorial spaces and flexible student study areas. Relocating the new building along Blackstone and Weldon Avenues will help alleviate some of the parking demand on campus and will serve as a new front door to the college. Demolition and site preparations started in March. The existing Math, Science and Math Building was constructed in 1973, and is nearing the end of its useful life cycle and will require major modernization. Through the FCC planning process, it was determined that due to changes in course work and new technology, a new science building would improve instructional capabilities and the student experience.
