What is the CMAC Scholarship Program?
The CMAC Scholarship Program provides financial assistance to cover the cost of a CMAC membership for one year. This program aims to support individuals who are passionate about media arts but may not have the financial means to afford membership.
What does the CMAC membership include?
A CMAC membership includes access to CMAC’s facilities, equipment, training workshops, and the opportunity to broadcast content on CMAC’s platforms. Members can utilize these resources to create and distribute their own media projects.
Who is eligible to apply for the CMAC Scholarship Program?
The scholarship is available to individuals who demonstrate a need for financial assistance and have a strong interest in media arts. With the exception of organizations, anyone who is eligible for a CMAC membership is also eligible to apply for a scholarship.
How do I apply for the CMAC Scholarship Program?
To apply, you need to complete an application form available on the CMAC website. The application process typically requires a written statement outlining your interest in media arts, what your goals are for utilizing a CMAC membership, and a description of your financial need.
How are scholarship recipients selected?
Recipients are selected based on their demonstrated financial need, commitment to media arts, and the potential impact the scholarship will have on their work. A selection committee reviews all applications and makes the final decisions.
What is the application deadline?
Application deadlines are late November and late April respectively.
When will I find out if I have been awarded the scholarship?
Scholarships will be awarded twice a year. Applications will open early November and early April. Applicants will be notified in early January and early June whether their application was accepted or denied.
Can I reapply for the scholarship if I am not selected?
Yes, applicants who are not selected are encouraged to reapply. Additionally, feedback may be provided to help strengthen future applications.
What are the expectations for scholarship recipients?
Scholarship recipients are expected to actively participate in CMAC activities, make use of the resources provided, and produce media content. Recipients will be asked to share their experiences and outcomes with the CMAC community. Failing to utilize your scholarship may impact your chances at renewing in the future.
Can the scholarship be renewed after the initial year?
The scholarship covers a one-year membership. Recipients interested in extending their membership may need to reapply for the scholarship.
