PSA Day – Tuesday, March 6

Are you a non-profit organization with an upcoming event you’d like to promote?  Do you want to inform the community about your non-profit services?  Non-profit organizations who serve the Fresno/Clovis area are invited to record a 30-second public service announcement at our Community Media Center on PSA Day – Tuesday, March 6, 2018.

As a community service, the CMAC staff will work with you to produce a 30-second PSA free of charge. Each participant will be assigned a one-hour time slot in our studio. Your PSA will be aired on CMAC’s Public TV Channel (Comcast 93, AT&T 99), which can be seen in the cities of Fresno and Clovis, and parts of Merced, Madera, Fresno, Kings, and Tulare counties. PSAs will also be posted online so you can share them worldwide on your organization’s website, social media, or other outreach efforts.

There are certain rules you must follow as a PSA Day participant. Please read through this web page before you sign-up.

How to sign up for PSA Day

Thank you for your interest. All our time slots have been filled for PSA Day on March 6. But don’t worry, there are many ways CMAC can help your organization tell its story. Please consider becoming a member of CMAC and attend one of our many workshops. Frequently Asked Questions

Is my organization qualified to participate in CMAC’s PSA Day?
Non-profit organizations located within the city limits of Fresno or Clovis or that directly assist residents of Fresno or Clovis are eligible to sign-up for PSA Day.

What is a public service announcement (PSA)?
PSAs are messages that educate and raise “public” awareness about “services” or important information. PSAs provide viewers information about available programs, activities, events or services of non-profit organizations.

What is CMAC’s PSA Day?
CMAC will provide staff and one-hour of studio time to help local non-profits create a 30-second high quality video PSA. CMAC will provide the finished PSA as a digital video file on a thumb drive for the non-profit to keep and use however they’d like. PSAs will also air on TV on CMAC’s Public Channel (Comcast 93, AT&T 99) and on CMAC’s website.

How long will it take to create my PSA?
Our production staff will make sure that creating the PSA will not take too much time out of your day and will be a fun and easy process. After you sign up, our staff will reach out to you to confirm your time slot. Time slots are one-hour long. Although you might not need all that time, we do not want to rush you though the process. You will have time to practice your script and record a couple takes. We can put the script in a teleprompter, so you can read it directly without the need for memorization.

What if no one from my organization is available on the date of PSA Day?
If a non-profit organization is not available for the specific date of Tuesday, March 6, 2018, CMAC staff will be happy to make an appointment to discuss others opportunities.
